August 21,1978 A special meetin� of the Council of the City of Hopkins, Minnesota, was
held on Monday, � gust 21, 1978, at 7:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers in
the City Hall. �
Present were Mayor Miller, Councilmen McDonald, Milbert, Slaton, and Lohmann,
also Acting City anager Richardson, Asst. Engineer Anderson, and City
Attorney Vesely.�
� Item: Proposals l or the purchase of the old City Hall site.
Action: Mr. McDo�ald moved, and Dr. Slaton seconded the motion, that the
three pr posals received for the old City Hall site, be rejected.
A poll o the vote was as follows: Mr. McDonald, yea; Mr. Milbert,
yea; Dr.iSlaton, yea; Mr. Lohmann, yea; and Mayor Miller, yea.
Motion c rried unanimously.
Action: Mr. Lohm�nn moved, and Mr. McDonald seconded the motion, to have
staff in estigate the feasibility of leasing the old City Hall site
for lot arking and report back to Council. A poll of the vote was
as follo s: Mr. Lohmann, yea; Dr. Slaton, yea; Mr. Milbert, yea; Mr.
McDonald� yea; and Mayor Miller, yea. Motion carried unanimously.
Item: Tabulation�of Insurance Bids continued from the Council meeting of
August 15,�1978. Bid Opening - 8-8-78, 10:00 a.m. (See tabulation of
bids attac ed).
Action: Mr. Milb rt moved, and Dr. Slaton seconded the motion to award the
� contract Workmen's Compensation, General & Landfill Liability,
Fleet Li bility, Fire E.C. & Vandalism, to Home gnsurance Company;
Excess rella Coverage to Puritan and Volunteer Firemen'� Acci�ent
to Hartf� rd Insurance Group as set forth in the attached tabulation,
and as � commended by staff. A poll of the vote was as follows:

I HENNEPIN COUNTY PROJECT NO. 6742, CSAH #18, be adopted. A

Action: Mr. Lo ann moved, and Dr. Slaton seconded the motion, to approve
the Cor1 truction Cooperation Agreement to PW 29-01-78, County
Project� No. 6742, CSAH No. 18 & 3, and authorization be given to
the Max r and City Manager to sign same. A poll of the vote was
