704%4 , Patsy and Robb Keech founded Spare Key in 1997 after the death of their 2 % year
old son Derian, who was born with a genetic birth defect; and
NV�[EJLP.C�Q, since 1997, Spare Key provided assistance to Minnesota homeowners with
critically ill or seriously injured children by making mortgage payments on the family's behalf
whether the illness is childhood cancer, a car accident or a sudden and debilitating disease, Spare
Key has been providing families the gift of time for 15 years; and
Spare Key has been able to assist 2 families with $2,479.03 in mortgage payments
within the City of Hopkins; and
?V1tCTCxU- , Spare Key's goal is to dramatically increase the number of Minnesota families it
serves every year. By doing so, Spare Key hopes to insure that no Minnesota family with a
seriously ill or critically injured child ever has to choose between being with their sick or injured
child or losing their home.

time and money to Spare Key, be it resolved that I, Eugene J. Maxwell, Mayor of the City of
Hopkins, Minnesota, do hereby proclaim September 15, 2012 to be
and urge the citizens and businesses of the City of Hopkins to recognize the generosity of the
donors who have provided Spare Key with the resources to do what they do.
