additional Election Judges for the General Election on November 6, 2012.
Overview
On July 10, 2012, Council adopted Resolution No. 2012-044 appointing election judges for the
2012 Primary and General Election. Since that time staff has recruited additional election judges
to serve at the November 6'h General Election. The names of these judges are being presented for
Council approval. Minnesota Statute 204B.21 subd. 2, provides that appointments of additional
election judges shall be made at least 25 days before the election at which the judges will serve.
The number of judges assigned to the precinct is determined by the number of registered voter and
the history of new registrations in it. The resolution contains the names of those who indicated a
willingness and ability to serve as an election judge, and appointment by the City Council will
allow these judges to serve at the General Election.
In Hennepin County, each city is responsible for training their election judges. To accommodate
this, a 2 %2 hour paid training session is scheduled for October 11th
Expenses for the election judge's wages are included in the adopted 2012 budget. Election judge
hourly pay is $9.50 per hour.
