PROCLAMATION
GIRL SCOUT GOLD AWARD
WHEREAS, the Girls Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valley is
proud to honor 103 girls with the Girl Scout Gold Award. Among them is
Rebecca Gorlin; and
WHEREAS, she had to spend at least 80 hours planning and implementing
her project, which includes determining a need in the community and developing
innovative ways to address it, and
WHEREAS, to earn the award, she must fulfill requirements related to
leadership, career exploration, community service and she must put her plan into
action; and
WHEREAS, the leadership skills, organizational skills, and sense of
community pride and commitment that come from her willingness to "Go for the
Gold" set the foundation for a lifetime of active citizenship. The Girl Scout Gold
Award recipients of today are the women leaders of tomorrow.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Hopkins City Council
does recognize Rebecca Gorlin for her hard work and dedication and congratulates
her on receiving the Girl Scout Gold Award, which is the highest award that a Girl
Scout can earn.
WHEREFORE, I set my hand and caused
the seal of the City of Hopkins to be affixed
