0 The Depot Coffee House was created by a group of high school students and youth allies
in 1996 and opened for business in 1998.
0 TODAY the Depot Coffee House is still directed by a group of high school students! The
current Board of Directors has students from Hopkins High School, Wayzata High School,
and Blake School. Recent Boards have has students from South High School, Edina, Eden
Prairie, and Minnetonka.
0 Every FRIDAY night all year long, Youth bands share the stage at the Depot.
0 Every TUESDAY there is an Open Mic night that has a huge variety of acts and artists.
0 Youth Project Director, Ted Duepner manages youth events, oversees the daily program
operations, and serves as mentor for the Board.
0 Cafe Manager, Phil Velo, makes scones, cookies, amazing soups and salads, from
scratch! Buying your coffee and other food at the Depot helps support our youth
programs.
0 Folks rent our space for birthday parties, CD releases, meetings, grad parties, etc.
Renting this unique space helps support the youth programs at the Depot.
0 Community Partner organizations — Hopkins School District, City of Hopkins, Three
Rivers Park District, and Hopkins/Minnetonka Recreation Services provide expertise,
various in-kind support, and some regular funding so that the Depot can provide a safe
and chemical free place for youth — and the rest of the community — to gather and
enjoy!

In 1998 the Depot Coffee House opened its doors with this mission:
To provide a place of community and learning in which student involvement
and youth development are encouraged in a chemically free environment.
Thanks to this community, steadfast partner organizations, and the creative energy of 15
years' worth of high school students, the Depot continues to serve young people, coffee and
local food lovers, and trail -users from the entire area as never before.
To celebrate this special year, the Depot Youth Foundation—a non-profit group dedicated to
supporting the youth programming at the Depot— would like to provide some upgrades and
additions to make more things possible in this space. Please donate what you can to insure
that the Depot will be serving youth and the whole community 15 years from now. All
donations are tax-deductible.
Yes! I would like to support the Youth Programs at the Depot Coffee House. Happy Birthday!

Funds raised in this campaign will be used to refurbish the
heavily used space and purchase/replace chairs and
window treatments to accommodate larger groups and
video presentations. To discuss other opportunities for
