MInutes of the September 17, 2013 Council MeetingA regular meeting of the Hopkins City Council was held on September 17, 2013, in the Council Chambers of the Hopkins City Hall. Present were Mayor Maxwell, Council Members Cummings, Gadd, Halverson and Youakim. Also, present were staff members Duepner, Genellie, Hartsig, and Mornson. I. CALL TO ORDER Mayor Maxwell called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m. Il. REPORT Depot Youth Presentation — 15 -Year Anniversary Student representatives from The Depot Coffee House gave an overview of the Depot Mission, youth programming, music events, partnerships, the Depot youth project activities, classroom connection, special events, coffee operations, student work experience, rental revenue and partnership with the Hopkins Activity Center kitchen allowing Chef Phil the opportunity to create delicious menu items to sell at the Depot. The students gave an overview of the "15 hours of Music Fest" in celebration of The Depot's 15 -year anniversary. The students discussed the Depot's goals for the future, which include continuing the mission and seeking out new ways to welcome youth and the whole community to The Depot. A new monument sign will be installed at the entrance soon. The Depot representatives thanked Hopkins for their support. For additional information on The Depot, visit www.depotcoffeehouse.com. Authorize Out -of -State Travel; (CR 2013-093) Council Member Cummings moved and Council Member Gadd seconded a motion to approve the Consent Agenda. A poll of the vote was as follows: Council Member Cummings, aye; Council Member Gadd, aye; Council Member Halverson, aye; Council Member Youakim, aye; Mayor Maxwell, aye. The motion carried unanimously. IV. ANNOUNCEMENTS • September 29, 2013 (Sunday) — Celebration of Community, 11-2 pm, Eisenhower Community Center • October 2, 2013 — Citizens Academy Alumni Event • October 10, 2013 — League of Women's Voters Debate • October 12, 2013 — Fire Department Open House • October 12, 2013 — Yellow Ribbon Event at Downtown Park • Mr. Mornson acknowledged Finance Director Christine Harkess for receiving the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). V. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, Council Member Halverson moved and Council Member Youakim seconded a motion to adjourn the meeting.
