PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, the Hopkins Lions Club has been serving the Hopkins area
for seventy five years; and
WHEREAS, the Hopkins Lions Club has helped build the community by
volunteering with such events as Music in the Park, Mainstreet Days and the
Raspberry Festival; and
WHEREAS, the Hopkins Lions Club built the original park shelter at
Shady Oak Beach; and
WHEREAS, the Hopkins Lions Club has benefited the City of Hopkins by
sponsoring a Hopkins Little League baseball team, donating scholarships each
year to Hopkins High School, donating hearing aids and eye glasses to area
residents; and
WHEREAS, the Hopkins Lions Club has, as its members, men and women
of high character and commitment to service; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Hopkins City Council
does hereby proclaim Friday, November 8, 2013 as:
Hopkins Lions Club Day
In the City of Hopkins, and does also encourage all citizens to celebrate with the
Lions Club in recognizing this achievement.
WHEREFORE, I set my hand and caused
the seal of the City of Hopkins to be affixed
this 8th Day of November, 2013.
