MEMORANDUM
TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council
FROM: Shannon SmitliCommunity Development Adm. Assist
DATE: November 1, 2013
SUBJECT: 2013 Hopkins Community Image Awards (HCIA)
Each year the City of Hopkins recognizes certain properties for their contribution toward the
image of the community. Awards are grouped in three categories—
Commercial/Industrial/Office, Multi -family Residential, and Single Family Residential.
Nominations are sought from the public through August. A review committee determines
which nominated properties receive awards. Each property that receives at least 4 of the 5 review
committee votes is awarded. There is no limit to the number of awards that can be selected, but
winners from the last 10 years are not considered.
This year the review committee consisted of business owner Kimberly Korb of Wrap City
Graphics, residents Pat Stacken and Scott Kerssen and city staff members Jane Ale and Pam
Hove.
The following three properties selected by the committee are all in the Single Family Residential
category:
■ Timothy & Leslie Masterson, 244 - 12" Avenue North
■ Jerry & Gayle Seaberg, 313 Seventh Avenue North
■ David Prchal, 34 - 15' Avenue North
A PowerPoint presentation highlighting this year's HCIA winners is attached to this memo.
