MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION PROCEEDINGS
AT CONCLUSION OF THE REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING
Tuesday, December 1, 2015
CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Maxwell called the meeting to order at 8:35 p.m. Council Members and staff present at
meeting included the following:

x Council Member Halverson x City Manager Mornson
x Council Member Cummings x Council Member elect Kuznia
x Council Member Gadd
The following updates were provided at the meeting:
Council Member Gadd commented that Public Works Department did a
good job clearing snow
after recent snowfall. Council Member Gadd will be absent at the December 8, 2015 Work Session.
Council Member Cummings will attend the CMC meeting in Council Member Gadd’s absence.
Council Member Cummings and Planning and Development Director Elverum will be attending the
SWLRT meeting regarding public art at the stations. The proposal includes one piece of artwork per city
with a total budget of $5 million.
Council Member Halverson commented that the tree lighting at the Holiday in Hopkins event went well.
City Manager Mornson will follow-up with Community Development Coordinator Beekman regarding
the winners of the Window Decorating Contest at the Holiday in Hopkins event.
The Tuesday, December 8, 2015 Work Session is scheduled at 7 pm. City Clerk Domeier will update the
Council on the Comedy Club and Special Events Policy.
City Manager Mornson discussed the 2016 Citizen’s Academy. The Academy will be held beginning in
March and advertising will begin in January.
City Manager Mornson gave Council a copy of the Historical Society lease for review. The Historical
Society will be at the December 15, 2015 City Council meeting to update the Council.
Council Member elect Kuznia commented that the Interlachen Neighborhood Association was
appreciative of the information shared by the Police Department regarding an incident on the bike path.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the City Council and upon a motion by Gadd,
second by Campbell, the meeting was unanimously adjourned at 8:49 p.m.
