P&Z Resolution 2023-11 - Resolution Making Findings of Fact and Finding that the Hopkins Rail Support Facility is in Compliance with the Comprehensive PlanCITY OF HOPKINS Hennepin County, Minnesota PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION RESOLUTION 2023-11 A RESOLUTION MAKING FINDINGS OF FACT AND FINDING THAT THE HOPKINS RAIL SUPPORT FACILITY IS IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN WHEREAS, the property at 1515 — 6th Street South with PID 25-117-22-23-0050 (the "Subject Property") is owned by the Metropolitan Council, and WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Council via Metro Transit's Green Line LRT Extension project is proposing to construct an approximately 24,000 square foot maintenance facility on the Subject Property; and WHEREAS, The Subject Property is guided by the 2040 Comprehensive Plan as being within the future land use category of Activity Center; and WHEREAS, The 2040 Comprehensive Plan establishes goals to maintain and diversify the city's strong employment base and participate in the development of the Green Line Extension project to expand transportation and development benefits for the community; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning & Zoning Commission of the City of Hopkins hereby finds that the proposed Hopkins Rail Support Facility at 1515 — 6th Street South is in compliance with the Comprehensive Plan.
