Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move that Council authorize cash pavment as consideration in the acauisition of easements for the 11th Avenue South Reconstruction Proiect. Overview. In reconstructing 11th Avenue South from 5th Street to County Road 3 some widening is required in all segments. Permanent easement takings are required in Project 96-16 as it affects the Cornerstone Business Center and Reuter Manufacturing. This report will discuss size, location and cost of the required easements. Primarv Issues to Consider. · Reuter Manufacturing taking The City has been granted a permanent easement along 11th Avenue South, approximately 4,139 square feet in size. The City has negotiated a monetary settlement of $2.50 per square foot for a total of $10,347.50. The city has also negotiated a temporary construction easement at no charge. Consult attached drawings for information. · Cornerstone Business Center taking The City has been granted a 9,399 square foot permanent easement along the east side of 11th Avenue South. The CUP governing the Cornerstone development has mandated terms of easement acquisition at $2.00/square foot. The settlement totals $18,798. The city has also negotiated a temporary construction easement at no charge. Consult attached drawings for information. . Funding The total settlement is for $29,145.50. Staff recommends that State Aid Funds collected on this project in excess of those gathered in special assessments to be used to fund the acquisition.
