2015-033 Accepting Bid for the Parking Lot Improvments CITY OF HOPKINS

RESOLUTION 2015-033
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID
WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the improvement of Municipal Lot 300,
City Hall parking lot, Central Park parking lot and trail, Pavilion parking lot, the Hennepin Coun-
ty Regional Railroad Authority (HCRRA) alley between 7th and 8th Avenues, Clocktower Plaza,
and miscellaneous sidewalk and alley repairs bids were received, opened and tabulated according
to law, and the following bids were received complying with the advertisement:
S.M. Hentges and Sons, Inc. $1,022,662.85
Midwest Asphalt Corp. 1,207,472.00
New Look Contracting, Inc. 1,271,000.00
Northwest Asphalt, Inc. 1,362,374.70
AND WHEREAS, it appears that S.M. Hentges and Sons, Inc. of Jordan, MN is the lowest re-
sponsible bidder,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Hopkins, Minnesota, that:
1. The mayor and city manager are hereby authorized and directed to enter a contract with S.M.
Hentges and Sons, Inc. of Jordan, MN in the name of the city of Hopkins for the improvements
noted above according to the plans and specifications therefore approved by the city council
and on file in the office of the city clerk.
2. The city clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits
made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next lowest bid-
der shall be retained until a contract has been signed.
Adopted by the City Council this 7th day of April, 2015.
