78-2734 CITY OF HOPKINS Hennepin County, Minnesota RESOLUTION NO. 78-2734 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ACQUISITION OF CERTAIN LANDS LOCATED IN THE SOUTH HOPKINS INDUSTRIAL REDEVELOPMENT DISTRICT BY NEGOTIATION, PURCHASE, OR CONDEMNATION IN EMINENT DOMAIN FOR AND IN BEHALF OF THE HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY 411 OF HOPKINS, MINNESOTA. WHEREAS, on February 7, 1978, the City Council of the City of Hopkins, pursuant to its Resolution No. 77-2646, determined and resolved to adopt a Hopkins Redevelopment Program in a specified district all within the meaning of MSA 462.421 ; and WHEREAS, in the furtherance of the plan heretofore adopted, it is necessary for the City of Hopkins Housing and Redevelopment Authority to acquire certain parcels of land as a portion of the Hopkins Redevelopment Program set forth in previous re- solutions of the City Council which land is located in South Hopkins Industrial Re- development District. NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby resolved by the City Council of the City of Hopkins and by the Housing and Redevelopment Authority of the City of Hopkins as follows: 1 . That is is necessary in the furtherance of the plan of rehabilitation and redevelopment in the City of Hopkins and in the public interest for public ournoses set forth and allowed in the Statutes of the State of Minnesota, that the City immedia- IIIacquire by negotiation and purchase or by an action in condemnation under the Laws of Eminent Domain the title to the following described premises situated in Hopkins. Hennepin County, Minnesota, viz: PARCEL #800 NWQ of SW4 north of RR lands Sec 25-117-22 Triangle shape. 1 .52 acres or 66,2.11 sq.ft. PARCEL #5245 That part of S1/2 of NW4 described as follows, beginning at SWC of said S , thence on an assumed bearing of N along W line of said S2 of NWC thereof, thence easterly along N line of said S to southerly extension of E line of Block 3, L.P. Creviers 1st Addition to West Minneapolis, thence S 8° 42' 10" !4 to S line of N 150' of said S2, thence F along said S line to southerly extension of W line of Block 2, L. P. Creviers 1st Addition, thence S along said • southerly extension to northwesterly R/lI line of RR, thence south westerly along said R/W line to S line of said S , thence W to POB except road. Irregular shape. 9.82 acres or 42.7,759 sq.ft. TOTALS 11 .34 acres or 493,970 so.ft. 2. That the City Manager and the City Attorney of the City of Hopkins is hereby ordered, authorized and empowered to acquire the above nremises as hereinabove set forth at not more than the fair and reasonable market value of said premises and that upon such acquisitions the proper officers of the City of Hopkins are hereby authorized and empowered to issue funds of the City of Hopkins to pay for the cost of such acquisitions including all reasonable expenses necessarily spent in connection therewith. 3. That upon the acquisition of the titles to said above described premises it is hereby further resolved that the presently existing structures, dwellings and other buildings located thereon shall be completely razed and removed therefrom at the expense of the City of Hopkins. 4. That thereafter the City Manaoer and the City Attorney is hereby authorized for and on behalf of the City of Hopkins to accept offers for all or parts of the premises described above, it being understood that such offers shall be by bona fide prospective purchasers whose intent and purpose shall be the immediate redevelopment by construction of suitable commercial buildings and other structures thereon and that no offer shall be accepted from any offeror except for the purposes hereinabove set forth. • Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Hopkins, Minnesota, at a regular meeting held the 7th day of November, 1978.
