77-2557 CITY OF HOPKINS HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION NO. 77-2557 RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING PUBLIC PARK IN THE CITY OF HOPKINS AND AUTHORIZING ACQUISITION OF SITE THEREFOR AND THE CONSTRUCTION AND THE DEVELOPMENT THEREOF WHEREAS, numerous citizens and residents of the City of Hopkins, as well as civic organizations, have from time to time urged the City Council of the City of Hopkins to provide a suitable downtown city park in Hopkins, and WHEREAS, the Park Board of the City of Hopkins and the Community Development Citizens Advisory Commission and the Zoning and Planning Commission and the City Planner of and for the City of Hopkins have made preliminary studies and inspections concerning the availability and the feasibility of a creation of a downtown City park in the City of Hopkins, and WHEREAS, by resolution of the Park Board of the City of Hopkins the City Council has been urged to acquire title for such park purposes of the following described premises situated in Hennepin County, Minnesota, viz: Lots 10, 11 and 12 and Lots 23, 24 and 25, • Block 5, Wes.t 'Minneapolis and thereafter immediately cause the construction of a public park thereon, and WHEREAS, the City Council concurs with the opinions of the various persons and organizations hereinabove named. NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby resolved by the City Council of the City of Hopkins as follows: 1. That the City of Hopkins shall acquire the title to the premises hereinabove described for the purpose of constructing and maintaining thereon a public park. 2. That said premises shall be appraised by at least one competent appraiser and the fair and market value thereof thus determined. III3. That the City Attorney of the City of Hopkins shall acquire said premises for said purposes by negotiation or by action in Eminent Domain. 4. That the Park Board of the City of Hopkins shall and are hereby authorized to secure the services of suitable park planners to devise a plan for such a downtown City park .
