RESOLUTION NO. 77-2607
RESOLUTION PETITIONING HENNEPIN COUNTY TO
PROVIDE ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT SERVICES.
WHEREAS, it has been reported that advanced life support service can
be provided only at a loss by private providers; and
WHEREAS, it is not practical to perform this service on an area basis if
certain communities subsidize it and others do not; and
WHEREAS, Hennepin County now provides this service within the City
limits of Minneapolis.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Hopkins:
1. Advanced life support services should be maintained in the area
now served by the present Methodist-Fairview-Smith Mobile Life Support program.
S2. Advanced life support services should be provided at the same
level throughout Hennepin County.
3. Hennepin County has both the authority and the responsibility to
provide these services should private vendors cease to offer them.
4. Therefore, this body respectfully petitions the County Board to
assure continuation of advanced life support services within this City.
Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Hopkins, Minnesota, at
a regular meeting held the 16th day of August 1977.
