AN ORDINANCE DEFINING PARKING SPACES AND
AMENDING THOSE PARTS OF THE HOPKINS ZONING
ORDINANCE NO. 427 PERTAINING TO PARKING AREAS
IN CERTAIN RESIDENTIAL AND MULTIPLE DWELLING
LOCATIONS.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Hopkins
as follows :
SECTION I - PARKING SPACES OFF STREET DEFINED : Off street
parking space, for the purpose of this Ordinance is hereby defined as
an area of land required by this zoning ordinance for vehicle parking
• which is adjacent to any residential dwelling unit . Such spaces shall
not be less than 9 feet in width and 20 feet in length; provided, however,
that in any parking area established pursuant to this Ordinance,
which provides for contiguous parking for more than twenty-five (25)
vehicles, a portion of such area not exceeding twenty-five (25) percent
thereof may be designated, delineated, marked and used in dimensions of
not less than 8 feet by 16 feet provided such parking spaces are clearly
marked as "COMPACT CARS".
First read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City
of Hopkins held December 7 , 1982 and finally read, approved, adopted and
411 ordered published at a regular meeting of said Council of said City on
linDecember 21 , 1982 .
