410 ORDINANCE NO. 78-448
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 370 OF THE
1977 CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF
HOPKINS .
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Hopkins as
follows :
SECTION 1. That Section 370 : 00 of the 1977 Code of Ordinances of
the City of Hopkins is hereby repealed and there is hereby enacted
and adopted in lieu thereof the following:
Section 370 : 00. DEFINITIONS. For the purpose of this Ordinance, the
following words shall mean the following:
LET shall mean and include any oral or written permission or other
sufferance to reside in or otherwise occupy or tenant any dwelling
unit subject to the registration hereinafter described.
• MULTIPLE DWELLING shall mean three or more family units, except hotels,
motels, or lodging houses.
METROPOLITAN AREA shall mean the seven county area comprising the
counties of Hennepin, Ramsey, Dakota, Anoka, Carver, Scott, and
Washington.
SECTION 2 . That Section 370 :05 (b) is hereby repealed and there is
enacted and adopted the following in place thereof:
(b) Name and address of person or operator who shall be legally
responsible for compliance with this and any other Hopkins City
Ordinances pertaining to the dwelling unit, such person or
operator to reside in the Metropolitan area.
SECTION 3 . That the dates of expiration and required registration as
set forth in Section 370 :20 are hereby amended and changed from
January 1 of each year to January 15 of each year, and said Section
of said Ordinance is hereby amended accordingly.
SECTION 4 . That the first sentence of Section 370 :25 pertaining to
. fees is hereby repealed and there is hereby enacted and adopted the
following in place thereof: "A fee of $1.50 for each unit in a multiple
dwelling shall be collected by the Housing Inspector for each regis-
tration required under this Ordinance, provided that the minimum fee
for any one registration shall not be less than $10 . 00.
First read at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of
Hopkins held on June 20, 1978, and finally read,/a•proved, adopted
and ordered published at a regular meeting of sid ' ouncil of said
City on July 5 , 1978 .
