12-16-1975 A reguZar meeting of the Council of the City of Hopkins, Minnesota, was held on Tuesday, December 16, I975, at 7:30 p.m. , in the Council Chambers in the City Ha11. � Present were Mayor MilZer, CounciZmen McDonald, Slaton, and Vassar, also City Manager Cotton, City C1erk Richardson, Asst. Engineer Anderson, Operations Director, Beecher, Building Inspector Kohnen and City Attorney Vesely. Absent: Councilman Milbert and City Engineer Strojan. Reel 1 9� Mr. Vassar moved, and Dr. Slaton, seconded the motion, that the 2 items Side 2 under the CONSENT CALENDAR, be approved. 5-25 1. Minutes of the December 9, 1975, Council meeting. 2. Misc. 1976 .Zicense applications. (see Iist attached) A po.ZZ of the vote was as follows: Mr. McDonald, yea; Mr. Vassar, yea; Dr. Slaton, yea; and Mayor Miller, yea. Motion carried unanimous.Zy. * * * * � * * * * * Bid: Pursuant to notice bids were opened on Decerr�ber 1, 1975, at 10:00 a.m. , for the purchase of a Rubber Tired Loader, and the following bids were received. (see tabulation of bids attached.) Action: N1r. Vassar moved, and Mr. McDonaZd seconded the motion, that the Contract for 25-54 a Rubber Tired Loader be awarded to Long Lake Ford Tractor Co. , for an A64 Mode.Z Loader, with a base price of 538�856•OD,With a Trade-In of $I0,456.00,with a Tota1 Bid of $Zg,40�•00% Plus .$Z,900.00 for opfional tires, making the final total price of $30,300.00, as recommended by t:�e Public Works Department. Bid: Pursuant to notice bids were opened on December Z, 1975, at 10:00 a.m. , for the purchase of a Tree Spade, and the followinq bid was received. (see tabulation attached) . Action: Mr. Vassar moved, and Dr. Slaton seconded the motion, that the contract Eor the 54-76 purchase of a Tree Spade be awarded the firm of Vermeer SaZes & Service, located in the City of Bloomington, in the a�unt of $10,899.00, as recommended by the PubZic Works Department. Mr. McDonald moved, and Mr. Vassar seconded the motion, that Resolution 76-137 No. 75-2473, "RESOLUTION APPROVING HENNEPIN COUNTY'5 PROPOSED REVISED LAYOUT 238, PROJECT 6742, CSAH 18 FROM 5TH STREET SOUTH TO 2ND STREET NORTH", be adopted, and that the Council go on record that other pro- visions that the private business in the affected area might make �Mi.Zlwork, Inc.)be limited to our understanding that they accept the arrangement as it is portrayed in this drawing and no other consideration, of private negotiations with the County enter into our development of approvaZ. Mr. Vassar moved, and Mr. McDonald seconded the motion, that the proposed 137-173 amendment to the existing AGREEMENT between the City of Hopkins and the City of Minnetonka providing for a joint recreational pro gram, dated November 6, 1967, be approved and the Mayor and City Manager be authorized to sign same. Dr. Slaton moved, and Mr. Vassar seconded the motion, that the Mayor's reappointment of Robert G. Anderson as Weed Inspector for the City for Z976, be approved. Mr. Vassar moved, and Dr. Slaton seconded the motion, to approve parti- 190-500 cipation with the Metropolitan Transit Comm.ission, utilizing Community DeveZopment Funds in the amount of $10,600.00, for a Community Centered Demonstration Project as presented by Mr. Harriman, Chairman of the Community Development Citizens Committee and three representatives from the MetropoZitan Transit Commission. A poll of the Council was as follows: Dr. Slaton; yea; Mr. Vassar, yea; Mr. McDonald, yea; and Mayor MiZler, yea. Motion carried unanimously. Action: Nlr. McDonald moved, and Mr. Vassar seconded the motion, that the meeting be 500-504 adjourned.
