2016-026 Resolution Accepting Bid CITY OF HOPKINS HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION 2016-026 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the improvement of 18th, 19th, 20th, and 21st Avenues North; 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.Street North; and the alley from 18th Avenue North to the east within the Hennepin County Regional Railroad Authority right-of-way bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law, and the following bids were received complying with the advertisement: Northwest Asphalt, Inc. $3,993,762.84 Northdale Construction Company, Inc. 4,063,466.66 Ryan Contracting 4,183,840.00 LaTour Construction, Inc. 4,230,876.40 R.L. Larson Excavating, Inc. 4,249,281.80 Kuechle Underground, Inc. 4,283,085.87 Geislinger & Sons, Inc. 4,429,359.00 Palda & Sons, Inc. 4,431,267.43 S.R. Weidema, Inc. 4,457,474.06 S.M. Hentges & Sons, Inc. 4,514,967.75 AND WHEREAS, it appears that Northwest Asphalt, Inc. of Shakopee, MN is the lowest re- sponsible bidder, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Hopkins, Minnesota, that: 1. The mayor and city manager are hereby authorized and directed to enter a contract with Northwest Asphalt, Inc. of Shakopee, MN in the name of the City of Hopkins for the im- provements noted above according to the plans and specifications therefore approved by the city council and on file in the office of the city clerk. 2. The city clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next lowest bid- der shall be retained until a contract has been signed.
