RESOLUTION APPROVING PROPOSAL FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES
BLAKE ROAD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
CITY PROJECT 2013-06
WHEREAS, a corridor study was completed by the City of Hopkins (City) in 2015 in
collaboration with Hennepin County(County) and other agencies which provided
recommendations for improvements to Blake Road, and
WHEREAS, the City Council accepted and approved the recommendations of the
corridor study and deems it appropriate and expedient to make such improvements, and
WHEREAS, the City and County have negotiated an agreement to bring out the
reconstruction and jurisdictional transfer of Blake Road, and
WHEREAS, the agreement between the City and County specifies that the City will take
the lead in the design, construction, construction oversight and right-of-way acquisition
to support the reconstruction of Blake Road, and
WHEREAS, the City has negotiated a proposal for engineering services with WSB &
Associates, Inc. for the improvement of Blake Road.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of
Hopkins, Minnesota:
1. WSB & Associates, Inc. is hereby designated as the engineer for this
improvement and shall provide engineering, construction and right-of-way
services for the improvement of Blake Road. The Mayor and City Manager are
hereby authorized to enter into a contract for said services for the project.
2. The City Attorney and City Engineer are hereby authorized to acquire necessary
easements by negotiation or condemnation.
