2016-061 Requesting Concurrent Detachment from Hopkins and Annexation to MinnetonkaCITY OF HOPKINS Hennepin County, Minnesota RESOLUTION NO. 2016-061 RESOLUTION REQUESTING CONCURRENT DETACHMENT FROM HOPHINS AND ANNEXATION TO MINNETONKA OF CERTAIN LANDS PURSUANT TO MINNESOTA STATUTES SECTION 414.061 WHEREAS, the Cih� of Minnetonka is the fee o�vner of certain real propert��, ]egall}' described on the attached Eshibit A(the "Anne�ation PropertJ�"), u�hich is located in the Ciq� of Hopkins; and WHEREAS, the Annexadon Propern' is locared immediatel}' adjacent to other rea] propertv owned bv the Ciq° of nlinnetonka that is improved with the ciri�'s pvblic works facilit}� (the "Public Works Propern�"), which is located in the Cit}� of Minneronka; and WHEREAS, the Cit�� of �linnetonka historicallj� has owned, occupied and used the Annexacio� Propertp a�d Public Woxks Pacilirp as a single parcel oFland; and WHEREAS, the Cin° of blinnetonka and the Citp of Hop6ins desire to modif�� Cheir respective municipal boundaries bt� detaching the Annesation Properry� from the Citp of Hopkins and attaching the Anneaarion Propexc5° to che City� of Minnetonka. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as rollows: 1. The Citp of Hopkins requests that the Office of rlc�minisrradve Hearings — Municipal Bou�dar�� Adjustment Unit co�currentl}� detach the A��esation Properh° from the Ciq' of Hopkins and annex the same to the Cin° of Minnetonka ac the earliest possible dare. 2. The Cit}' Clerk is directed to submit this Resolution to rhe Office of Adminisa�anve Hearings — �lunicipa] Boundar}� Adjuscments for the purposes set forth herein. 3. The Cin of Hopkins agrees that, within 30 daps of xeceipt of boTh this Resolution and of a similar resolutio❑ adopted b�� thc Ciq� of 1�4innetonka ciq• council, the Oftice of Administrative Flearings — D4unicipal Boundar5• Adjuscments ma}° re��ie��� and comment but sl�all order the concurrenr detachment and anne�ation consiscenc unth the terms of this Resoludon. 4. The City of Hopkins has designatcd the Annesation Properri as wetland and open spacc in itis Comprehensive Plan, and it is zoned for single famil�� ]o�v densiq. These designations most closely resemble tbe Cih� of Minnetonka Comprehensive Plan Land Llse Guidin� of Lo�a Densit}� Residential and a zoning designation of R-1 Single FamilJ� Residc�tial. These designations shall be i� place until such time, if an�°, as they� ma}' be revised b}' the Cih� of ntinnetonka cin council according to Minnesoca Stamres Cliapter 462.
