AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 200.01 OF HOPIQNS CITY CODE
ESTABLISHING SALARIES OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL FROM AND
AFTER NOVEMBER 7, 2017.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HOPHINS DOES HEREBY ORDAIN:
SECTION l. Tl�at Section 200.01, Subdivision 1 is hereby amended by deleting tlie s�ic-I�e»
material and adding the underlined material as follows:
200.OL Salaries of Mayor and Cotuicil members. Subdivision l. Mayor. The salary of
the mayor is �8,999 $9,560 per year, payable bi-weeldy.
SECTION 2. That Section 200.01, Subdivision 2 is hereby ai��ended by deleting tl�e sE�iekee
material and adding the underlined material as follows:
Subd. 2. Council Member. Tite salary of a council member is �Fi-,988 $7,325 per year,
payable bi-weekly.
SECTION 3. That Subdivision 4 is hereby created by adding the following �inderlined material:
Subd. 4. Salarv Review. On Septeinber 1 of odd �lumbered vears be�innine in 2019, the
salaries in subsection 1 and 2 of this section shall be reviewed for oossible adiusttnent with an
effective date of the followine Januarv I. The proposed salaries must equal the ]imit for the
t�rior vear, increased bv the perceutaee increase contained in the Compensation Limit for Local
GovernmenC Emplovees annuallv oublished by Yhe Minnesota Office of Manaeement and
Budeet, pursuant to Minn. Stats. § 43A.17. Anv such pr000sed salar,y� �di��stment for the ma}�or
and couucil members must be approved by ordinance of the City Council.
SGCTION 4. The effective date of this ordinance shall be January 1, 2018.
