RESOLUTION NO. 2001-45
WHEREAS, the Czech American National Alliance sponsored a Czech Harvest
Festival in Hopkins beginning in 1939; and
WHEREAS, the Hopkins Betterment Association sponsored a Hopkins Czech Festival
beginning in 1976; and
WHEREAS,
the Hopkins Jaycees, Hopkins Mainstreet Promotions and Hopkins
Community Promotions sponsored a Hedtage Festival during the 1980's;
and
WHEREAS,
in keeping with this tradition and in recognition of the ever more diverse
population in the City of Hopkins a Heritage Celebration was planned in
conjunction with the 2001 Raspberry Festival,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Hopkins
hereby recognizes and applauds the efforts of the following individuals
and groups in planning, promoting and conducting the Hopkins Heritage
Celebration:
Heritage Celebration Committee: Lana Sierra, Ana Bivans, Jason Gadd,
Kristi Halverson, Barbara MacKintosh, Naomi Pardaz, and
Darrell Cole.
Hopkins Jaycees
Hopkins Raspberry Festival
Vail Place
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Hopkins this 8th day of August 2001.
