RESOLUTION NO. 2001- 29
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE DONATION OF APPROXIMATELY
17.8 ACRES OF LAND TO THE CITY OF HOPKINS FOR PARK PURPOSES
WHEREAS, by letter dated May 7, 2001, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit A, Paul
Steiner has offered to donate approximately 17.8 acres located in the southeast corner of the City of
Hopkins to the City for park purposes.
WHEREAS, the Hopkins City Council has considered the proposal by Mr. Steiner to donate
the land described in the attached Exhibit A and has determined that said 17.8 acre parcel is suitable
for park and open space purposes and would be a significant addition to the City's park system.
WHEREAS, the Hopkins City Council has, therefore, determined that the City of Hopkins
should accept the donation of said 17.8 acres of land for park purposes.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Hopkins, Minnesota, hereby adopts the
following Resolution:
RESOLVED, that the donation and transfer to the City of Hopkins of approximately 17.8 acres
of land in accordance with the terms and conditions stated in Exhibit A attached hereto is hereby
approved and accepted, subject to examination of title and satisfactory completion of any inspection
or investigation deemed necessary by Staff or the City Attorney, and the City Manager and City Staff
are authorized to proceed with the acquisition of such land according to the terms stated in Exhibit A.
