2001-019CITY OF HOPKINS HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION 01-19 RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS 2001 STREET & UTILITY IMPROVEMENTS/PROJECT 00-10 AND AUTHORIZING ADVERTISEMENTS FOR BIDS WHEREAS, pursuant to a resolution passed by the Council on January 2, 2001, plans and specifications for improvements to 11th Ave. So. from Landmark Trail South to Smetana Road; 16th Ave. No. from 1st St. to 2nd St. No.; 14th Ave. No. from 4th St. No. to South Service Drive and 8th Ave. from Excelsior Blvd. to 1st St. No. including street reconstruction, replacement of deficient utilities, bituminous overlay, and, WHEREAS, plans and specifications for Project 00-10 have been prepared by Bolton & Menk, Inc. and have been presented to Council for approval, and; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of Hopkins, Minnesota: 1. Such plans and specifications, a copy of which are attached hereto and made a part hereof, and hereby approved and ordered placed on file in the office of the City Clerk. 2. The City Clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official paper and in the Construction Bulletin an advertisement for bids upon the making of such improvements under such approved plans and specifications. The advertisement shall be published three times, at least three weeks before date set for bid opening, shall specify the work to be done, shall state that bids will be received by the clerk until 11:00 a.m., on the 2nd day of May 2001 at City Hall and that no bids shall be considered unless sealed and filed with the clerk and accompanied by a certified check or bid bond, payable to the City of Hopkins, Minnesota for 5% of the amount of such bid. 3. The clerk and city engineer are hereby authorized and instructed to receive, open, and read aloud bids received at the time and place herein noted, and to tabulate the bids received. The Council will consider the bids and award of contract at the regular City Council meeting of May 15, 2001, in the Council Chambers.
