RESOLUTION NO: 00-20
RESOLUTION MAKING FINDINGS OF FACT AND
APPROVING A SIGN VARLANCE
WHEREAS, an application for Variance VN00-1 has been made by Graphic House; and
WHEREAS, the procedural history of the application is as follows:
1. That an application for Variance VN00-1 was made by Graphic House on
January 19, 2000;
2. That the Hopkins Zoning and Planning Conm~ission, pursuant to mailed
notice, held a meeting on the application and reviewed such application on
February' 29, 2000: all persons present were given an opportunity to be
heard;
3. That the written comments and analysis of the City staff were considered;
and
4. Legal description of the parcel is as follows:
Lot 1, Block 1 Stiele Addition
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that application for Variance VN00-1 is
hereby approved based on the following Findings of Fact:
1.That the property has a hardship because of the building setback which
does not allow for a wall sign to be visible from Excelsior Boulevard.
2. Location of a time and temperature sign as allowed under the code on the
outside structure of the bank would give rise to a health and safety concern
for County Road 3 traffic.
3. Because the bank building is in excess of 100 feet south of the traveled
way of County Road 3, placement of a changeable time and temperature
sign would provide little or no benefit to the vehicular traffic in attempting
to observe the information provided by the proposed sign.
