2002-057 CITY OF HOPKINS HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION NO. 2002-57 RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, 2002 ALLEY RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT, CITY PROJECT NO. 00-12, AND AUTHORIZING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS WHEREAS, pursuant to a resolution of the City Council adopted the yth day of May 2001, plans and specifications were developed for alley improvements in the 200/300 Block between 19th Avenue North and 20th Avenue North, (City Project No, 00-12 including concrete pavement and curb installation, drainage and erosion control improvements, and all necessary appurtenances,and WHEREAS, plans and specifications for City Project No. 00-12 have been prepared by the City of Hopkins Engineering Division and have been presented to Council for approval, and, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Hopkins, Minnesota: 1. Such plans and specification, a copy of which are attached hereto and made a part hereof; and hereby approved and ordered placed on file in the office of the City Clerk. 2. The City Clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official paper and in the Construction Bulletin an advertisement for bids upon the making of such improvement under such approved plans and specifications. The advertisement shall be published at least 10 days before date set for bid opening, shall specify the work to be done, shall state that bids will be received by the clerk until 10:00 a.m., on the 12th day of June, 2002, at the City Hall and that no bids shall be considered unless sealed and filed with the clerk and accompanied by a certified check or bid bond, payable to the City of Hopkins, Minnesota for 5% of the amount of such bid. 3. The clerk and city engineer are hereby authorized an instructed to receive, open, and read aloud bids received at the time and place herein noted, and to tabulate the bids received. The Council will consider the bids and award of contract at the regular City Council meeting of June 18, 2002, in the Council Chambers.
