08-21-01 WSAUGUST 21, 2001 Page 1 MINUTES CITY COUNCIL WO12I~ SESSION -AUGUST 21, 2001 A work session of the Hopkins City Cotuicil was held at 6:30 p.m. on Augnist 21, 2001, in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Council members present were Mayor Maxwell and Coiulcil members Brausen, Hesch, Jensen, andJoluison. City persomiel present City Manager Steve Miell~e, Plamiing & Economic Development Director Jim Kemgan, Jim Hartshoni, Economic Development Coordinator, and Housing Coordinator Kersten Elverum. Sid Inman of Ehlers & Associates was also present. Discussion: Developer Selection for East End Project There was a discussion of Cowlcil and staff opinions regardi7dg what they saw on the tour of the Beard Group/Dominium and Conlerstone/Feffercorn projects. Discussion followed on how to proceed with selection. Second interviews were scheduled for September 4, 2001. General Consensus: Have staff talk to both Cornerstone and Beard Group about the possibility of working together. Discussion: Land Acquisition Dan Wilson of Wilson Development Services discussed what he has done concerning the acquisition of 704-706 Mainstreet. Mayor Maxwell also detailed his discussion with.the owner's representative. It was decided that at the HRA meeting this item would be continued for atwo-week period.
