A budget hearing was held on Monday, December 7, 1998 in the Council
Chambers at Hopkins City Hall. Present were Mayor Redepenning and Coundl
members Gene Maxwell, Fran Hesch, Karen Jensen, and Diane Johnson. Also
present were staff members Steve Mielke, City Manager, and Lori Yager,
Director of Finance.
The meeting was called fio order at 6:30 p.m. by Mayor Redepenning.
A presentation was made by Finance Director Lori Yager, outlining the
accounting changes that have been made within the city budget,1998 property
tax law changes, 1999 proposed budget, and tax imparts of the proposed
budget.
Mayor Redepenning opened the public hearing at 6:50 p.m.
There was no one in attendance fio comment or ask questions.
A motion was made by Maxwell, seconded by Hesch, to dose the public hearing.
The motion was apprmred unanimously.
Discussion by the Coundl induded a request fior market value infomnation by
neighborhood, and a synopsis of unantidpated revenues fior 1998. There being
no further questions or comments, a motion was made by Maxwell, seconded by
Jensen, to adjourn.
The motion passed unanimously. The meeeting was conduded at 7:15 p.m.
