Auditors. She gave a report on the recent audit. She
stated that the firs could find no problevs Mich the audit
and the City has cosplied with all state and federal
regulations.

Mayor Radepanninq opened the public ~+~~rinq at 7:50 p.m.
Dorothy Shulta, 708 Robinvood Lane, inquired as to the
amount she ~rould be assessed. Mr. Gessale informed her of
the cost. She also Named to knot hoe such property Mould bs
needed to enlarge the street. ~. Gustafson said about Z

on the loan. Mr. Gessele sYplainad the procedure to him.

Councilmember Anderson moved and Councilmamber seconder the
motion to adopt Resolution No. 94-57.

South Street reconstruction.

Staff recomomendad adoption of the follarinq motion: Kowa to
direct staff to establish a common center turn lane on
Kainstreet between 5th to Nashington Avenue and eliminate
all on street parking in this area ~v~~pt for retaining the
existing parking restrictions on the south side of the
street, lay feet from 5th Avenue to the east.
Kr. Gustafson gave an overview of the report Kith the
Councf 1.
After a brief discussion Councilmembar Anderson moved and
Councilmeaebar Kaxvall seconded the aotion to a~~r~ra the
temporary cosmon turn lane.

ASSISTANT FOR PUBLIC RELi~TIONS Cr. 94-114)
staff raco that the Council a~~ a~-e the follotiinq
motion: Kowa that the Hopkins City Council authorise the
creation of the position of Administrative Assistant for
Community Relations with the funding to come froz Cable
Television franchise fees.
Kr. Genellie vent over the proposed position and duties that
the position would entail.
Councilmembar Anderson asked if the City would be able to
eliminate the position should it not meat ~-~p~~tations. l~r.
Ganellie said that the Council could evaluate the position
and eliminate ft if the would like.
Councilmember Kaxarall asked about the contribution the
Raspberry Festival would make to the overall cost of the
position. Kr. Genallia said a~~oximataly $6,000 a year.
Councilmambsr Basch asked how long the Cable Television
franchise would ba in affect.
Kr. Genellie stated that the contract should run until 1999,
therefore, the funding for the new position should last
until then.

After further discussion Councilmamber Hasch moved and
Councilmember Anderson seconded the motion to approve the
new position with a review of the position after one year.

Councilmembar Basch said that she had attended the Arts
Association meeting and was vary s:ccitad at the progress
they have aada.
Councilmember Maxwell said that ha had attended the Park
Board meeting and that an update was given on the parks and
11aet$old field.
lrlayor Redapanninq said that 19usic in the Park would kick off
on Ana 30th with an exciting program. 8a also reminded the
public about the Farmers Market was now open on Saturday
morning between the hours of 7:30 a.m. until iZ:00 p.m.
