COUNCIL WORKSESSION
APRIL 10t 1990
A Council Worksession was held on April 10, 1990 at 7 p. m. in the
Council Chambers of City Hall. Present were Mayor Berg and
Councilmembers Kritzler, Redepenning, Anderson and Shirley. City
Staff present were Engineering Supervisor Gessele, Public Works
Director Thiel, Water and Sewer Superintendent Lauseng and Planning &
Economic Development Director Kerrigan.
ROADWAY IMPROVEMENT POLICY DISCUSSION
The proposed Roadway Improvement policy was discussed at great length
with Council, staff and members of the Bellgrove, Interlachen Park and
Knollwood Communities participating. No consensus was reached and the
item will be continued to the April 17 regular Council meeting.
COUNTY ROAD 3 DISCUSSION
Jim Kerrigan introduced Bill Schotzlien and Tom Martinson consultants
hired by the Hennepin County HRA to work with City staff to upgrade
the area of County Road 3. Council suggested areas that they feel
needs particular attention.
Some of the areas mentioned were as follows:
Railroad Depot
Landscaping along the roadway
Railroad tracks
Clean up south side of County Road 3
Pick up junk - railroad cars and ties etc.
WATER/SEWER SUPPLY
Bill Cook of RCM discussed the findings of a study of Hopkins water
and sanitary sewer system. He pointed out some improvements that
should be made to the system. Proposed action will come before the
Council at a later date.
CONSIDER WAIVER OF 60 DAY WAITING PERIOD FOR GAMBLING LICENSE - ST
JOSEPH'S FOR APRIL 22
Mr. Anderson moved and Mr. Kritzler seconded the motion to adopt
resolution 90-51 waiving the 60 day waiting period. The motion
carried unanimously.
Mr. Redepenning moved and Mr. Anderson seconded the motion to adjourn.
The motion carried unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 10:35 p.m.
