02-01-00 SPEC. MTG.A special meeting of the Hopkins City Council was called to order on February 1, 2000 by Mayor Maxwell at 6:18 p.m. Steve Mielke said that a vacancy was declared at the January 4`" City Council Meeting. During the month of December the City Council requested applications from the public and received a total of 22 applications. In February, the Council interviewed six applicants and agreed to appoint Rick Brausen. Mr. Brausen will begin his term immediately and serve until December 31, 2001. Council Member Johnson moved and Council Member Jensen seconded a motion to appoint Richard A. Brausen 47 - 20t" Avenue North, to the City Council. A poll of the vote is as follows: Council Member Jensen, aye; Council Member Hesch, aye; Council Member Johnson, aye; Mayor Maxwell, aye. The motion was approved unanimously. Mr. Brausen gave the oath of office. Council Member Brausen moved and Council Member Hesch seconded a motion to adjourn the meeting.
