MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION
AT CONCLUSION OF THE REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING
Tuesday, November 21, 2006
Mayor Maxwell called the meeting to order at 9:05 pm at the conclusion of the regular City Council
meeting at City Hall. Council members present were Mayor Maxwell and Council members Thompson,
Rowan, Halverson, and Youakim. City personnel present were City Manager Rick Getschow.
Shady Oak Road Project
City Manager Getschow updated the City Council on the recent action by the Hennepin County
Commissioners to remove capital funding from the Community Works budget for the Shady Oak Road
project. This loss of funding at the current time affects the redevelopment planning and the early takings
related to this project. The project is still on track as a road project. City Manager Getschow and Council
discussed a joint meeting of the two City Councils that will occur on December 12 to further discuss this
issue.
State of the City
It was announced that the 2007 City of Hopkins State of the City will be Tuesday, February 20 from 5
pm to 7 pm. Council will follow up at a later date to discuss the details of that event.
December 19 Steve Kelley Day
It has been decided that December 19 shall be the meeting whereby a proclamation recognizing the
ccomplishments of Steve Kelley as State Senator. City staff will check the availability of Steve Kelley
for December 19.
There being no further business, a motion was made by Thompson, seconded by Halverson to adjourn
the meeting. The motion passed unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 9:40 pm.
