Council members present were Mayor Maxwell and Council members Rowan, Thompson, Halverson, and Youakim. City personnel present were City Manager Rick Getschow. Washington Avenue MSA Road Designation The Council requested some information regarding the potential dedication of Washington Avenue as a State Aid Road, based on information that had been provided in the Friday Update. City Manager Getschow stated that this item would be on the next work session agenda prior to any action by the City Council. Hopkins-Edina Trail Plan Council member Rowan stated that he was at a town meeting where the issue of the trail, 90 percent of which goes through Edina and a very small portion goes through Hopkins on Blake Road, was discussed. Several residents of Edina are opposed to the trail, which is adjacent to their properties in Edina. Even though this affects a very small part of Hopkins and not necessarily any residential property in Hopkins, the City Manager still would provide in the Update the information from the Edina meetings that have been held previously. Hop-A-Ride Council member Youakim thanked staff for providing information on Hop-A-Ride. She discussed the possibility of enhancing the program through discussions that would occur with the revision of the Comprehensive Plan. Eminent Domain Legislation City Manager Getschow updated the Council on the current status of the Eminent Domain legislation which had been passed in the Senate and was moving fairly quickly for potential passage this week in the House. Historical Society State of the City City Manager Getschow and Council discussed their attendance at the Historical Society State of the City on April 23. There being no further business, a motion was made by Thompson, seconded by Halverson to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 8:40 pm.
