MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION
AT CONCLUSION OF THE REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING
Monday, March 6, 2006
Mayor Maxwell called the meeting to order at 9:22 pm at the conclusion of the regular City Council
meeting at City Hall. Council members present were Mayor Maxwell and Council members Rowan, Thompson,
Halverson, and Youakim. City personnel present were City Manager Rick Getschow, Assistant City Manager
Jim Genellie, and Public Works Director Steve Stadler.
Extended Leave Policy
Council briefly discussed the city's policy for providing benefits for extended leave following the
provisions of the Family Medical Leave Act.
Brush Pickup
Public Works Director Steve Stadler stated that we will have a new program for moving brush pickup
from Fridays to Mondays. This movement makes it easier to deal with late calls or missed pick ups and not
having brush around properties on weekends. Also, our bulk drop off is scheduled for the end of April. Council
requested that we provide as much information as possible in the city newsletter and to our local newspapers on
the changes to the brush pickup day and the bulk drop off.
Union Negotiations
There was a motion by Youakim, seconded by Thompson to adjourn to closed session to discuss union
otiations. The closed session meeting was called to order at 10:12 pm.
The Mayor brought the meeting back into open session at 10:34 pm. There being no further business, a motion
was made by Halverson, seconded by Rowan to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously. The
meeting was adjourned at 10:35 pm.
