08-16-05 WSAugust 16, 2005 Page 1 MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION AT CONCLUSION OF THE REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING August 16, 2005 Mayor Maxwell called the meeting to order at 8:30 pm at the conclusion of the regular City Council meeting at City Hall. Council members present were Mayor Maxwell and Council members Thompson, Brausen, Johnson, and Rowan. City personnel present were City Manager Rick Getschow. Economic Development Update Council member Thompson requested and received updates on the following projects: 1. The Summit; 2. Marketplace and Main; 3. The North Annex. 21S` Avenue Alley Encroachment Issue Council member Thompson asked for an update on this encroachment issue. City Manager Getschow stated that Public Works Director Steve Stadler was working with both property owners abutting the alley regarding the encroachment from one property into the alley and toward another property. Council member Thompson stated that maybe title insurance could be a remedy for the property owner who had purchased the property that has an encroachment into the alley. Meadow Creek Condo Smoking Issue Council member Brausen stated that he had spoken to a resident of Meadow Creek Condominiums that had an issue with smoke from another unit entering her unit. City Manager Getschow stated that he had also talked to this resident and the inspection department had talked to this' resident. Getschow will follow up on this issue. September 13 Work Session Council member Rowan stated that he would not be attending the September 13 City Council Work Session due to another commitment. There being no further business, a motion was made by Council member Brausen, seconded by Council member Thompson to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously.
