RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID
2003 STREET AND UTILITY IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS
CITY PROJECT 02 - 10
WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the improvement of 5th Avenue from
3rd Street South to State Trunk: Highway 7 and 2nd Street North from 5th Avenue North to 6th
Avenue North, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law, and the following bids
were received complying with the advertisement:

Bidder 1: $ 888,133.77
Bidder 2: $ 938,697.03
AND WHEREAS, it appears that Valley Paving of Shakopee is the lowest responsible
bidder.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council ofthe City of Hopkins,
Minnesota, that:
1. The mayor and city manager are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract
with Valley Paving of Shakopee in the name of the City of Hopkins for the improvement
of 5th Avenue from 3rt! Street South to State Trunk: Highway 7 and 2nd Street North from.
5th Avenue North to 6th Avenue North according to the plans and specifications therefore
approved by the city council and on file in the office of the city clerk.
2. The city clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the
deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the
next lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Hopkins this 18th day of February 2003.
