AT CONCLUSION OF THE REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING
TUESDAY, AUGUST 21, 2018
CALL TO ORDER
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a work session of the Hopkins City Council was
held on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at 9:06 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall,
1010 First Street South, Hopkins.
Mayor Cummings called the meeting to order with Council Members Kuznia, Halverson,
Gadd and Campbell attending. Staff present included City Manager Mornson and Public
Works Director Stadler.
Public Works
Council should address any questions regarding the Pavilion to Mr. Stadler.
City Council:
• Discussion of group home state statutes.
• Council Member Gadd gave an overview of the Policy Committee discussion
regarding designated opportunity zones.
• Council Member Kuznia commented that there has been discussion of bees and
chickens on social media.
• Mayor Cummings discussed the Government Task Force on Housing.
• Mayor Cumming discussed events and meetings attended.
• Update on the National League of Cities Cohort.
Administration:
City Manager Mornson gave the following updates:
• Update on upcoming public events
• Update on the September 11th Work Session agenda
• Discussion of City Council Member resignation and vacancy timeline
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the City Council and upon a motion by
Campbell, seconded by Kuznia, the meeting was unanimously adjourned at 9:31 p.m.
