RESOLUTION 2007-82
RESOLUTION APPROVING ENGINEERING SERVICES AGREEMENTS
FOR 2008 WATER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS
CITY PROJECTS 2007-09 & 2007-11
WHEREAS, a comprehensive water system evaluation was completed in 2007; and
WHERAS, improvements were identified to be completed in 2008 including
rehabilitation of Well No. 1, emergency generation for Well No. 1 and the Moline Standpipe,
and an updated water system map; and
WHEREAS, City staff is requesting that these improvements be embarked upon; and
WHEREAS, City staff solicited proposals from five engineering firms to perform the
necessary engineering to complete these improvements and determined the best proposal was
received from WSB & Associates, Inc.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Hopkins,
Minnesota, that the completion of the water map and study of the proposed improvements be
referred to the firm WSB & Associates, Inc. and that they be instructed to report to the Council
with all convenient speed advising the Council in a preliminary way as to whether the proposed
improvement is necessary, cost-effective, and feasible and as to whether it should best be made
as proposed or in connection with some other improvement, and the estimated cost of the
improvement as recommended.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Hopkins, Minnesota, this 18th day of December,
2007.
