09-04-2018 Work Session After City Council Meeting MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION PROCEEDINGS AT CONCLUSION OF THE REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 4, 2018 CALL TO ORDER Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a work session of the Hopkins City Council was held on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 8:08 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 1010 First Street South, Hopkins. Mayor Cummings called the meeting to order with Council Members Kuznia, Halverson, Gadd and Campbell attending. Staff present included City Manager Mornson, Director of Planning and Development Elverum, Assistant City Manager Lenz and Public Works Director Stadler. Public Works Public Works Director Stadler discussed overnight roadwork closures of the Cambridge access to Blake Road. Administration Assistant City Manager Lenz discussed the performance review form and process. City Council: • Council Member Kuznia discussed recognizing a 2018 Special Olympic medal winner. Staff will investigate. • Discussion of the Federal Fair Housing Act, neighborhood concerns and concentration of group homes. • Mayor Cumming discussed meetings attended. Administration: City Manager Mornson gave the following updates: • Updated goal list for Council to review. • Review of the Finance Department letter regarding utility charges.
