03-05-2019 Work Session after City Council Meeting HOPKINS CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION AFTER REGULAR MEETING PROCEEDINGS MARCH 5, 2019 CALL TO ORDER Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Hopkins City Council was held on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at 8:22 p.m. in the Fire Training Room at the Hopkins Fire Station, 101 17th Avenue South. Mayor Cummings called the meeting to order with Council Members Gadd, Halverson, Hunke and Kuznia attending. Staff present included City Manager Mornson, Assistant City Manager Lenz and City Clerk Domeier. RANK CHOICE VOTING (RCV) David Haeg, RCV for Minnetonka Field Director provided information about rank choice voting. Barb West Moreland, Member of the League of Women Voters shared the benefits to implementing RCV. CITY COUNCIL UPDATES Council Member Gadd shared that the City Council provided a letter of support for Mayor Cummings appointment to the Met Council. Council Member Hunke and Mayor Cummings attended the Cream and Amber Grand Opening event. ADMINISTRATION UPDATES City Manager Mornson provided information on the May Day on Main event scheduled for May 4. Council Member Kuznia volunteered to help with the event. Mornson also provided information about upcoming agenda items.
