Minutes of the October 17, 2023, City Council Closed Meeting ProceedingsHOPKINS CITY COUNCIL CLOSED MEETING PROCEEDINGS OCTOBER 17, 2023 CALL TO ORDER Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a meeting of the Hopkins City Council was held on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at 6:59 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 1010 1st Street South. Mayor Hanlon called the meeting to order with Council Members Balan, Beck, Garrido and Hunke attending. Others attending included City Manager Mornson, Assistant City Manager Lenz, City Clerk Domeier, Finance Director Bishop, Public Works Director Autio and City Attorney Riggs. Motion by Beck. Second by Balan. Motion to go into closed session pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, section 13D.05, subd. 3(b) regarding the following: to conduct a closed session pursuant to the attorney-client privilege to engage in confidential attorney -client communications and litigation strategy related to a pending litigation matter and to discuss the City’s options as to participation in a multidistrict lawsuit class settlement entitled: In RE: Aqueous Film Forming Foams Products Liability Litigation; United States District Court, District of South Carolina – Charleston Division; MDL No. 2:18-mn-2873- RMB; Case No. 2:23-cv-03147-RMG.. Ayes: Balan, Beck, Garrido, Hanlon, Hunke Nays: None. Motion carried.
