MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION
AT CONCLUSION OF THE REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING
Monday, November 3, 2008
Mayor Maxwell called the meeting to order at 8:30 pm. Present were Mayor Maxwell and Council
members Halverson, Brausen, Rowan, Youakim and City Manager Rick Getschow
Other:
Council member Brausen stated that the ICA presentation was a good one and he hopes that staff will
follow-up with ICA to find a proper drop-off location for them and also assist in the promotion of that
organization through the city news letter and the city's website. There were also a few questions about
how the ICA food shelf works in conjunction with any work that the Family Resource Center may do.
City Manager Getschow provided a brief update to the City Council on the Marketplace and Main
project that the Beard Group is working on. Staff may be coming forward with a change to the
redevelopment agreement to facilitate the project moving along.
Council felt that the Citizens Academy Alumni event that occurred was a successful event. City
Manager Getschow stated that within the next month he will assemble the information that was provided
and distribute to the Alumni and City Council.
City Manager Getschow stated that several meetings are set up between the Police Department,
specifically, the Police Services Liaison and several different neighborhood groups to discuss safety and
crime prevention.
With no further business, a motion was made by Youakim, seconded by Brausen to adjourn the meeting. The
motion passed unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 pm.
