RESOlUTION OF AUTHORIZATION
TO ACCEPT GRANT FUNDS
WHEREAS, the Hopkins Police Department intends to develop specific projects
to target juvenil~ crime and;
WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Public Safety has awarded the
Hopkins Police Department a grant of $10,000 for police overtime to operate these
projects and;
WHEREAS, the City Council supports the efforts of the Police Department in this
area,
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved, by the City Council of the City of Hopkins.
Minnesota;
1. The Council authorizes the Hopkins Police Department to enter into a
cooperative agreement with the Minnesota Department of Public Safety for
the use of community policing grant funds for police overtime to target
juvenile crime.
2. The Council authorizes the Hopkins Police Department to utilize the grant
funds during the peried May 15. 1998 through August 14, 1998.
3. The Council authorizes Hopkins.Police Department Officer Chris Stroner to
execute suer agreements and amendments as are necessary to implement
the project on behalf of the Hopkins Police Department and the City of
Hopkins.
