RESOLUTION NO: 96-91
RESOLUTION MAKING FINDINGS OF FACT AND
APPROVING AN APPLICATION FOR SIDE YARD, REAR YARD,
AND HEIGHT VARIANCES FOR THE ARTS FACILITY
WHEREAS, an application for Variance VN96-2, was filed with the City of Hopkins to construct
an arts facility on Mainstreet between 11th and 12th Avenues, is approved.
WHEREAS, the procedural history of the application is as follows.
1. That an application for Variance VN95-2 was filed with the City of Hopkins on September
27, 1996,
2. That the Hopkins Planning Commission, pursuant to mailed notices, held a meeting on the
application and reviewed such application on October 29, 1996.
3. That the written comments and analysis of the City Staff and the Planning Commission
were considered.
4. A legal description of the subject property is as follows.
Lot 10, Block 70, Lot 11, Block 70, West Minneapolis Second Division, according to the plat thereof on
file or of record in the office of the Register of Deeds for said County.
Lots 12, 13, 14 and 15, Block 70, West Minneapolis Second Division, according to the recorded plat
thereof, and situated in Hennepin County, Minnesota.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the application for Variance VN96-2 is hereby
approved based on the following Findings of Fact:
1. That the lot is a corner lot.
2. That an arts facility requires a higher building because of the stage.
