RESOLUTION NO. 94-14
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE USE OF PROCEEDS FROM
THE SALE OF THE WELL NO. 3 PROPERTY
FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO MAETZOLD FIELD
WHEREAS, the Well No.3 property, located at 1121 2nd Street N.E., has
not been used for pumping water for many years due to a
contamination problem originating in st. Louis Park, and
WHEREAS, the property has been for sale since shortly after the
contamination problem was found; and
WHEREAS, Big Wheel/Rossi has an agreement with the city to purchase
this property by June 1994 for approximately $100,000; and
WHEREAS, the proceeds from the sale of the property are presently not
allocated towards any specific purpose; and
WHEREAS, the ci ty is presently in the second year of a four year
construction project for Maetzold Field and would like to use the
proceeds to shorten up the four year schedule to three years.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the city of Hopkins,
Minnesota that the proceeds from the sale of the Well No. 3
property, located at 1121 2nd Street N.E., be hereby dedicated
for improvements to Maetzold Field and that staff be hereby
directed to begin planning to use these proceeds for construction
of these improvements in 1994.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Hopkins this 1st day of
February, 1994.
