RESOLUTION NO. 94-30
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING AN ISTEA FUNDING APPLICATION
BY HENNEPIN PARKS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT
OF THE REGIONAL TRAIL CORRIDOR ALONG COUNTY ROAD 3
WHEREAS, Hennepin Parks is applying for federal ISTEA funding for the
development of the trail corridor along the south side of County
Road 3 from 8th Avenue to the east side of T.H. 169; and
WHEREAS, the City of Hopkins strongly supports Hennepin Parks in their
application for ISTEA funding; and
WHEREAS, ISTEA funding is critical to the development of this trail
corridor that includes upgrading of a highly utilized park and
ride facility; and
WHEREAS, the development of this trail corridor completes a missing
link in the two regional trails that come into Hopkins at 8th
Avenue and that will eventually connect to the Minneapolis Trail
System; and
WHEREAS, The City of Hopkins has supported the construction of this
trail corridor through its comprehensive Plan, Strategic Plan for
Development, Sidewalk/Trial Master Plan, and various other
documents including the Capital Improvement Program,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
Hopkins, Minnesota supports the Federal ISTEA funding application
by Hennepin Parks for the development of the trail corridor along
the south side of County Road 3 between 8th Avenue and T.H. 169.

March, 1994.
