1994-103 CITY OF HOPKINS Hennepin County, Minnesota RESOLUTION NO 94-103 A RESOLUTION EXTENDING A MORATORIUM ON P AWN SHOPS IN THE B-2 AND B-3 ZONING DISTRICTS WHEREAS, the City of Hopkins, has adopted Ordinance No 93-733 establishing a moratorium on pawn shops to December 6, 1994 WHEREAS, the City has three pawn shops m the City, located in the B-2 and B-3 zomng districts, WHEREAS, the City Council has concerns regardmg the ablhty of the City's existing codes to adequately regulate pawn shops in the B-2 and B-3 zomng dlstncts in the City of Hopkins and protect the public health, safety and welfare, WHEREAS, it has been determmed necessary, to protect the public health, safety and welfare, to extend a moratorium to allow the City of Hopkins to study issues pertaining to pawn shops in the B-2 and B-3 zomng district and possible amendments to the City Code to better regulate said pawn shops NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL YED, that a moratorium prohibiting pawn shops in the B-2 and B-3 zoning district is extended Said moratorium shall extend to December 5, 1995 or upon the enactment of a zoning amendment concermng tlus matter, whichever comes first Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Hopkins, Minnesota at a regular meetmg held the 1st day of November, 1994 ATTEST .
