1993-013 o o o CITY OF HOPKINS HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION NO: 93-13 RESOLUTION APPROVING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A NEIGHBORHOOD ADVISORY BOARD WHEREAS, the City of Hopkins strategic Plan for Economic Development contains a goal whereby the City should foster" communication and cooperation between the -City, neighborhoods, schools and the business community; and WHEREAS, the Strategic Plan for Economic Development suggests that the City should develop a neighborhood outreach program and establish a Neighborhood Advisory Board made up of representatives from every Neighborhood Association; and WHEREAS, the establishment of a Neighborhood Advisory Board will accomplish a number of goals including assuring high quality communications, identification of concerns and issues, volunteer participation, and strong and well maintained neighborhoods; and WHEREAS, the establishment of a Neighborhood Advisory Board will provide an example of the city's use of the philosophy of "community oriented government" whereby the City works in partnership with its constituents to solve problems, deal with issues, and provide the level of services which our citizens desire; and WHEREAS, membership on the Neighborhood Advisory Board would include presidents or alternates from organized neighborhood associations, recruited representatives from unorganized neighborhoods, representatives from the multi family sector of Hopkins, as well as liaisons to the advisory board representing the Hopkins business community, school district and City Council. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the city Council of the City of Hopkins: That the establishment of a neighborhood advisory board is hereby approved. o Resolution 93-13 Page 2 Adopted by the City Council of the City of Hopkins this 16th day of February, 1993.
