RESOLUTION NO. 93-56
RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVEMENT AND AUTHORIZING BIDS
RANDOM SIDEWALK REPAIR
Whereas, Council has established a sidewalk repair and
maintenance policy such that all public sidewalk repairs are
under the exclusive purview of the City and same repairs
shall be funded 100% by City general funds, and
Whereas, the engineering staff has completed its annual
inspection program and has proposed plans and specifications
for random repair and replacement of sidewalks and here
presents those plans and specifications for approval,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
HOPKINS, MINNESOTA:

1) Such improvement is hereby ordered as proposed and bid plans
and specifications, a copy of which are attached hereto and
made a part hereof, are hereby approved and ordered placed
on file in the office of the City Clerk.
The City Clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the
official paper and in the Construction Bulletin an
advertisement for bids upon the making of such improvement
under such approved plans and specifications. The
advertisement shall be published twice, shall specify the
work to be done, shall state that bids will be received by
the clerk until 10:00 a.m., on the 8th day of July, 1993, at
the City Hall and that no bids shall be considered unless
sealed and filed with the clerk and accompanied by a
certified check or bid bond, payable to the City of Hopkins,
Minnesota for 5% of the amount of such bid.

3) The clerk and engineering superintendent are hereby
authorized and instructed to receive, open, and read aloud
bids received at the time and place herein noted, and to
tabulate the bids received. The Council will consider the
bids, and the award of a contract, at the regular City
Council meeting of July 20, 1993, in the Council Chambers.
